  • You can specify the “User-Agent” string for requests from the main (master) Cerber.Hub website by defining the PHP constant CERBER_HUB_UA in the wp-config.php file. Here is the line you can use:

    define('CERBER_HUB_UA', 'My User Agent');

  • Diagnostic logging for network requests to the WP Cerber cloud. To enable logging, define the PHP constant CERBER_CLOUD_DEBUG in the wp-config.php file. Logging covers admin operations on the WP Cerber admin pages only. Here is the line you need to add:

    define('CERBER_CLOUD_DEBUG', 1);

  • Fixed bug: “PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function crb_admin_hash_token() in cerber-load.php:1521”.
  • Fixed bug: “PHP Notice: Undefined property: WP_Error::$ID in cerber-load.php on line 1131”

Improvements

Handling the installed license key has been improved to avoid conflicts with caching plugins and caching engines with aggressive and uncontrollable caching.

Fixed bugs

  1. Switching to the English language in the plugin admin interface has no effect if WordPress uses a language pack automatically installed from wordpress.org.
  2. While using Cerber.Hub on a master website: user roles on a slave website are not displayed on the Activity log and Live Traffic page.

What’s new in this release

We’re introducing a new feature that you can’t afford to miss. The feature called Cerber.Hub enables you to manage the WP Cerber plugin and monitor activity on an unlimited number of websites. Read more: Manage multiple WP Cerber instances from one dashboard.

We’ve significantly improved the export routine for the Activity log and Live Traffic. Now it’s capable of exporting more than 500K rows in a single CSV file.

What’s new in this release

  • A new set of heuristics algorithms for detecting obfuscated malware  JavaScript code have been added to the Traffic Inspector firewall rules and malware scanner.
  • A new file filter on the Quarantine tab lets to filter out quarantined files by the date of the scan.
  • Improved handling the plugin settings in a buggy or misconfigured hosting environment that could cause the plugin to reset settings to their default values.
  • Improved the compatibility with hostings that have old MySQL and old PHP versions.
  • Fixed an issue with saving settings on the Hardening tab: “Unable to get access to the file…”

  • New: Now you can enable English for the plugin admin interface. The new switch is located in the Main Settings right above the submit button.
  • New: Diagnostic logging for the malware scanner. It can be enabled in the scanner settings. If it’s needed you can also specify a particular location of the log file with the constant CERBER_DIAG_DIR. By default, the log file is located in the uploads folder with no access from the Internet. To view the log go to the Tools / Log admin page.
  • Update: The performance of malware scanning on a slow web server with thousands of issues and tens of thousands of files has been improved.
  • Update: PHP 5.3 is not supported anymore. The plugin can be activated and run only on PHP 5.4 or higher.
  • Fix: If a malicious file is detected on a slow shared hosting, the file can be shown twice in the results of the scan.
  • Fix: A possible issue with the short PHP syntax on old PHP versions in /wp-content/plugins/wp-cerber/common.php on line 1970.

What’s new in this release

  • A possible issue with uploading a large JSON or CSV file addressed in this development version of the plugin. When Traffic Inspector scans uploaded files for malware payload, some files might be erroneously identified as malicious. An algorithm of handling those files have been improved to avoid this issue.
  • Algorithms of the malware scanner have been improved to detect obfuscated malware code more precisely for all types of files. This applies for the quick and full scans. As well as scheduled scans.

A possible Divi theme forms incompatibility addressed in this development version of the plugin.

If you use the Divi theme (by Elegant Themes), you can come across a problem with submitting some forms. A form just doesn’t work, and you’re unable to submit it at all. To fix this issue you need to install v 7.6.1. of the plugin.

Bug fixed. Once an address IP has been locked out after reaching the limit to the number of attempts to log in the “We’re sorry, you are not allowed to proceed” forbidden page is being displayed instead of the normal user message “You have exceeded the number of allowed login attempts”.
